We are actively recruiting an experienced OD/ID CNC Machinist, Grinder, Programmer for a full-time position at our bustling precision grinding shop. This role demands a high level of precision and expertise in CNC machining and grinding, specifically within the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Operation: Proficiently set up and operate one or more CNC OD grinding machines, specializing in the precision grinding of aerospace parts according to exact blueprint specifications.
- Program Development: Demonstrate advanced programming skills to create new, efficient programs for performing OD grinding operations on CNC equipment.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Skillfully interpret blueprints, job orders, and verbal instructions, ensuring precise adherence to product specifications, including finishes, dimensions, tolerances, and determining the appropriate holding fixtures and grinding wheels.
- Wheel Dressing Mastery: Utilize advanced techniques to dress wheels to exact specifications, optimizing grinding performance.
- Operational Oversight: Maintain a vigilant eye on overall machine operations, conducting regular daily maintenance on equipment and work areas to ensure optimal functionality.
- Documentation Excellence: Complete production paperwork and adhere to inspection procedures with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accurate recording of processes and outcomes.
- Problem Identification and Reporting: Actively identify and report any operational problems or discrepancies promptly to the immediate supervisor, contributing to swift resolutions.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Keep tools, gauges, and equipment meticulously clean, orderly, and safe, demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety and efficiency.
- Adherence to Policies: Strictly comply with company policies and procedures, placing special emphasis on safety regulations to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Display a proactive willingness and capacity to acquire additional skills and knowledge, contributing to personal and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, Grinder, Programmer within the aerospace industry.
- Advanced proficiency in programming CNC equipment for precision grinding.
- Exceptional blueprint reading skills with a focus on aerospace part specifications.
- Comfort working within extremely tight tolerance environments (+/- .0005 or less).
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
