Duval Precision Grinding specializes in OD, ID, Surface, & Jig Grinding. This position is an integral part of generating business for Duval. This position takes Request for Quotations to developing a grinding process, determining the tools & equipment needed to achieve product specification, generating a formal quote, creating an engineered process (routing), & working with an employee during the first time run.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Estimating & Quoting
- New Product Introduction
- Must be able to multi-task with minimal supervision
- Must be able to communicate professionally with internal and external contacts
- Willingness to contribute in a team environment to ensure the business is successful
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Act as a troubleshooter for grinding process
- Cross-functional among all manufacturing disciplines; Engineering, Production, Shop Floor and Quality
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
DETAILS OF FUNCTION:
- Derive the sequence of grinding processes required to machine close tolerance parts (Aerospace, Industrial, FAA Overhaul) while meeting all customer specifications and quality requirements
- Designs and coordinates the manufacture of machining fixtures
- Must understand Customers’ Purchase Orders, Specifications, and Requirements
- Ability to learn and use Company ERP software
- Create and maintain Routing in ERP system
- Unwavering commitment to follow standard procedures in all aspects of work
- Customer visits
- Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-based environment
- Able to perform hands on shop work
- Provide technical guidance as needed to assist employees with use of all tools, fixtures, inspection aids and equipment to perform their functions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees, across all functions of the organization
Education & Qualifications
- Background in machining. Grinding preferred
- Clear understanding of complex aerospace prints including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, technical charts and specification sheets
- Strong math background including trigonometry and geometry
- Experience working in AS9100 and ISO environment
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or similar preferred (not required with matching experience)
